We are open by appointment only during the current provincial shut down. We continue to follow strict safety and disinfection measures so you can have confidence in visiting our clinic.
Safety and Disinfection
See below or click here for a detailed explanation of our safety measures.
Appointments
You may enter the clinic by appointment only and this includes the optical.
Surgeries
If your surgery has been cancelled we will contact you to let you know. If you do not receive a call from us then assume that your surgery is still scheduled.
Virtual Care
If you feel you are having an urgent eye problem or you prefer not to come into the clinic we may offer you a virtual eye exam (by phone or video) to see if we can help you remotely or assess if you really need in person care.
Optical Services
Our optical is now open and by appointment only. All of our frames are carefully disinfected between patients. We are selling contact lenses over the phone and offering in store pick up or direct shipping for your convenience.
We have gone to great lengths to ensure your safety during your visit to our clinic. We are following all guidelines set out by Ontario Public Health and the Ministry of Public Health as well as guidelines set by the college of physicians and surgeons and the college of optometrists. The most important measures to prevent spread and infection are physical distancing, screening for symptoms, proper use of masks and proper disinfection of hands and surfaces. All of our new guidelines for staff and our doctors follow these crucial measures.
To help limit the spread we have limited the number of patients who can be inside of our clinic to ensure everyone can be properly distancing by 2 metres while in the clinic. Our waiting room chairs are now all separated by 2 metres to allow for this. When distancing of 2 metres is not possible due to testing or examinations anyone you encounter will have a face shield or a mask including all other patients.
Every patient is screened for COVID-19 when booking their appointment, a few days before their appointment and the day of their appointment as well. Every patient is sent a self assessment test and if a patient has symptoms prior to their appointment they are automatically rescheduled for 2 weeks later. If you would like to take the self assessment click here.
Our staff are also screened every morning and are instructed to not come in if they have any symptoms of COVID-19.
Every person that enters our clinic is required to wear a mask otherwise they will not be allowed into the clinic. We ask that you try and bring your own mask but we will provide you with one if necessary. Our staff will also be wearing masks or face shields at all times.
There will be a designated hand washing station and as soon as you enter the clinic you will be given hand sanitizer to use. All of our staff will be washing their hands regularly and using hand sanitizer. There will be hand sanitizer stations around the clinic. Our doctors will wash their hands before and after seeing every patient.
We will be spraying and disinfecting all surfaces especially common areas around the clinic several times a day. To facilitate this we have eliminated almost all items from our surfaces, counters and tables.
