Dr. Steven Poleski has a Comprehensive Ophthalmology practice with a sub-specialty interest in Anterior Segment Surgery, including Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Corneal Surgery and treatment of corneal and other surface disorders of the eye.He graduated from the McGill University School of Medicine and completed his residency afterward in Ophthalmology at Queen’s University. Following a research year in Ophthalmic Pathology, Dr. Poleski completed Cornea and External Disease training at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Poleski is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

​Dr. Poleski has been in practice in Ottawa since 1986, and established the Ottawa Eye Clinic in 1997 on a former well-known National Capital Commission property in Ottawa’s East End. He maintains hospital privileges at Montfort Hospital as well as the Ottawa Hospital and courtesy privileges at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Poleski has been active in teaching medical students and residents, as well as his Medical and Optometry colleagues.
